Conforming is the digital equivalent of negative cutting.
Camera-originated film picture elements are scanned and converted to data using our Arri scanner. Digital and video elements are digitized directly into the system.

The images are then conformed into an edited sequence using EDL’s and cut lists. The result is an exact clone of the offline.
The conform process brings together the full-resolution material into a final assembly of the film and is a critical part of the DI workflow. Conforming is the central point through which all elements converge.
NT Picture & Sound can conform quickly from EDL or ALE files from offline sessions. Our work flow easily works with different frame rates, multi-format files (including QuickTime®) and with multi-resolution files.
Optical effects, fades, dissolves, split-screens, and motion effects are integrated at this time. Titles, credits and VFX elements may also be included.
